Workforce Feedback

Following some positive feedback from our client, Story Homes, we wanted to take the opportunity to share that feedback with the workforce and highlight the excellent work that was recently completed at Edgehill Park, Whitehaven.

Project Background

After six years of working on the Edgehill Park project, this summer we moved on to phase four of the project. Some of the recent work has brought unique and challenging tasks, including the construction of gabion baskets, a swale pond designed to manage stormwater, and a hydroseed wall to support sustainable landscaping.

Construction

Phase four has involved significant earth-moving operations. The team utilized excavators, dump trucks, and a GPS-equipped dozer to carry out a major muck shift. They then imported over 1,000 tonnes of Type 1 sub-base to create a strong foundation before lining the swale pond with a high-quality bentonite liner, ensuring the pond is watertight and effective in handling runoff.

The team also installed gabion baskets, working in smaller groups to carefully hand-place 80 tonnes of Burlington Gabion stone to give the baskets a clean, detailed finish. Every team member gave their all to ensure top-quality work, and the results speak for themselves.

Due to the quality of the work, Story Homes Site Managers from different regions of the UK were invited to view the completed work. They commented on the professionalism and workmanship of the site team.

Final Words

The hard work, teamwork, and efforts from everyone involved in the Edgehill project are helping push it forward. A massive thank you to everyone involved. Please feel free to contact us with any great examples of work like this so we can share them with the wider workforce.
