R H Irving Construction Ltd operate from premises in Longtown, Cumbria undertaking civil engineering and construction contracts throughout Cumbria and the north-west, as well as in the south of Scotland. To support our continuing growth and contract diversity, we are looking to recruit a SHEQ Manager to work across the business, covering these areas.

As our SHEQ Manager you will oversee the safety, health, environment and quality aspects of the business. Providing guidance to the management team, ensuring the company operate to the highest standards and that the working conditions are safe.

Job Role and Purpose:

To manage and monitor Health and Safety throughout the Company. To implement an integrated management system regarding Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and ensure compliance of HSE requirements
Work towards achieving and implementing ISO 9001 and ISO14001
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding CDM
Specify and carry out internal audits
Carry out accident and incident investigations as necessary and provide advice to Operational teams on effective preventative measures for continual improvements and reduce further potential risks.
Compiling statistics for reports and presentations
Provide input into quality tender submissions
Provide input into construction phase plans
Support the implementation, design and development of risk management processes
Liaise with clients or external bodies as required

Requirements:

NEBOSH general certificate, Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a similar position desirable
Driving Licence
Effective written and verbal communication skills

Remuneration:

The successful candidate will receive a salary in the region of £40,000 – £50,000 per annum, (depending on qualifications and experience) as well as 33 days annual leave (including English Bank Holidays), contributions to a pension scheme, bonus scheme and company car.
