The works comprised the design, construction and installation of a structural steel cycleway / foot bridge spanning around 45m over the Liddel Water near Newcastleton.
Works also incorporated the construction and formation of concrete bridge abutments and new access walkways and cycleways on either side of the bridge structure.
We initially proposed and costed full off-site design and fabrication of bridge structure but to assist in meeting client budgetary requirements we sought and sourced a second hand existing steel bridge structure which met client specification and budgetary requirements.
The structure was fully refurbished and finished off site and delivered to the site in sections.
The sections were assembled on site and the completed bridge structure was craned into place.
The project was completed on programme and budget.
