Abbeystead Hydro Scheme, Cumbria

The project comprised the construction and civil engineering works to enable installation of a new 200Kw hydro-electric scheme located within the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Lancashire.

Principal work elements included

– the construction of a ductile iron penstock and header tank
– the construction of a reinforced concrete powerhouse above an intake channel
