Following a number of previous successful development collaborations, Story Homes was keen to employ R H Irving Construction’s expertise to tackle this challenging site.
The project comprised delivery of earthworks, drainage, roadworks and groundworks for a new 140 house development in Appleby.
Key work elements included a top soil strip of 20,000m3 followed by cut and fill earthworks of 30,000m3.
All the fill material required bulk modification through lime stabilisation with a further 39,000m3 of cement stabilisation to new roadways.
