The project comprised extensive internal remodelling and upgrading of existing teaching areas to form a new Art Studio and Technology Lab within a large and fully operational Secondary School.
The project required the successful management and coordination of multiple sub-contractors. Key work elements included downtakings; installation of new suspended ceilings; formation of new external entrance doors and windows; mechanical and electrical installations; new floor finishes, decoration and installation of fitted furniture and other fixtures.
The works also incorporated removal and disposal of asbestos containing material, refurbishment of existing external walls and installation of new canopy structures within existing courtyard areas.
All works were carried out within a live and fully operational school with the added complexity of ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.
Intensive and detailed pre-construction engagement and coordination with the School and effective management of the construction phase ensured the works were delivered safely, within budget, on programme and to the highest quality whilst effectively minimising disruption to ongoing school operations and fully complying with School COVID-19 protocols and operating procedures.
