The project comprised the management and delivery of major groundworks and external works packages as part of project to provide a new local distribution facility for Amazon UK.
We successfully completed the works within the required 12-week contract period following an accelerated pre construction period.
Intensive planning and supply chain procurement combined with deployment of extensive in-house staff and plant resources and effective procurement and management of sub-contractors ensured works were delivered safely, on budget, within programme and to a high quality.
Key features included:
– Circa. 14,000m3 of bulk earthworks with extensive excavations, on site crushing and reuse of excavated material.
– Forming over 2000m2 of reinforced concrete slabs
– Formation of large SUDS pond and installation of extensive drainage infrastructure and pipework
– Construction of reinforced concrete retaining structures and dock loading bays
– Forming large van handling area extending to around 18,000m2 with asphalt finish on compacted sub base with associated lining works and lighting.
